Balcony drains of the LORO-X GS series without support edge are ideally suited for factory embedding in load-bearing slabs without additional build-up (e.g. screed, tiles, thermal insulation) for loggias and balconies made of waterproof concrete.

Two drainage levels

If an additional covering follows on site, such as slabs on slab supports, the GS series can be extended with a raised strainer holder to the upper drainage level. This provides high flexibility even with different balcony structures.

Performance verification for safe balcony drainage

LORO provides safe performance verification as a measured flow curve also for balcony drainage in the LX data sheet. From the LX data sheet, the flow can be read directly for any water height on the balcony. This enables safe dimensioning even for water heights below or above the nominal water height of 35 mm.

Flush finish in waterproof concrete

Balconies made of waterproof concrete (WU concrete) do not require an additional waterproofing membrane, so the drains are embedded flush with the balcony slab. The drains are supplied for slab thicknesses of up to 350 mm. For slab thicknesses under 350 mm, the drain must be cut to length before installation. We are happy to supply longer lengths on request in custom dimensions.

As single and direct drain

The drains of the GS series without support edge can be used as single drain or direct drain, depending on whether the drain is installed on the top balcony or on the balconies below. The basic body with specially developed retaining lugs accepts either an end strainer, or a ring strainer with the downpipe coming from above:

• as single drain with closed end strainer made of stainless steel
• as direct drain with ring strainer made of stainless steel for pipe routing

Maximum dimensional stability during installation and use

For maximum dimensional stability and durability, the GS series is manufactured from solid steel with high-quality hot-dip galvanization. The additional coating according to DIN EN ISO 2178 based on a 2K epoxy combination improves behavior during concreting compared to more aggressive concrete types.
