Interior Coating
The LORO-X interior coating for hot-dip galvanized steel drainage pipes is a long-lasting interior coating according to DIN EN ISO 2178 based on a 2K-epoxy combination.
It primarily serves to smooth the surface of the hot-dip galvanized steel drainage pipe, resulting in less frictional resistance for domestic wastewater.
LORO interior coating in red-brown colour is free from lead, cadmium and chromium VI or free from compounds with these elements.
Durability
When draining normal domestic wastewater or, for example, rainwater, the interior coating remains intact in the long term. There are no regulations for the temporal retention of the EP interior coating. It may gradually wear away through abrasion, but on the other hand, a biofilm typically forms in drainage pipes, which in turn provides additional protection.
In the case of subsequent colouring with stoving lacquers or powder coating, impairment of the interior coating is to be expected during the colouring process; pipes without interior coating are recommended for subsequent colouring.
