LORO-X High-Performance Safety Overflow (HSÜ)

The new LORO-X High-Performance Safety Overflow (HSÜ) in the LORO-X rainwater standpipe protects against backwater from the main drain. Thus, the HSÜ particularly protects the lower floors from flooding due to backwater in the downpipe of the main drainage system.

Overloaded Main Drain

When the public sewer system or main drain is only designed for the "statistical" rainfall intensity, the additional water during heavier rainfall events cannot be absorbed. With the High-Performance Safety Overflow (HSÜ), rainwater is drained from the roof even when the main drain is overloaded, preventing roof structural overload.

No Flooding of Lower Floors

Housing associations and insurance providers are also increasingly interested in reducing the risk of costly flooding of lower floors. Backwater in the downpipe is prevented with the HSÜ, thus preventing flooding particularly of lower balconies.

How It Works

Under normal conditions, rainwater is directed past the HSÜ into the main drain. The patent-pending, angled tubular outlet openings (see detail drawing in Aktuell 142) prevent outdoor discharge under normal conditions.

During backwater from the main drain, a standing water column builds up in the LORO-X rainwater standpipe, creating overpressure on the HSÜ that can "push" even large amounts of water through the HSÜ (see data sheet LX1390).
