Above the Soil

Throughout decades of use of LORO-X standpipes, for example, we are not aware of any corrosion damage attributable to a lack of corrosion protection on steel drainage pipes laid above ground.

In the Soil

In accordance with DIN 1986-4, hot-dip galvanised LORO-X steel drainage pipes are also approved for installation in the ground, provided that, depending on the load, they are fitted on site with corrosion protection in accordance with DIN 30672 (grease tape or corrosion protection tape, e.g. DENSO).

In accordance with DIN 1986-4, LORO-XCL stainless steel drainage pipes are also approved for installation in the ground. For this purpose, LORO-XCL stainless steel drainage pipes must be fitted on site with corrosion protection in accordance with DIN 30672, depending on the load.

DIN 30672 covers organic coatings for the corrosion protection of pipelines laid in soils and waters.

911X Sealing Elements in Groundwater

"Both of the compounds in use are generally well resistant to conventional groundwater. Impurities (salts, acids, bases, oils and greases) can have an effect on resistance – however, the concentration of these substances in groundwater is generally far below the range (factor > 1,000) at which an effect on our materials is to be expected.

This is the assessment based on the chemical resistance to impurities likely to occur in water. It cannot be ruled out that there is also groundwater with more aggressive constituents somewhere in the world."
