Products for cascade
LORO-X cascade drainage
With stepped and staggered arrangement of precipitation areas
A set-back storey or even several cascading roof terraces are often provided on modern residential and commercial buildings.
What is a cascade drainage system?
With a stepped and staggered arrangement of precipitation areas, the drainage of each level must be routed via the respective floors below down to the outlet at the bottom of the building.
Conventionally, the drainage of several levels takes place individually per level with separate pipe routing. This means that on each level 2 drains (main and emergency) with separate downpipes are added. With 3 storeys, this already results in 6 downpipes.
With the LORO-X DUOSTREAM multi-storey drains for cascade drainage, the number of downpipes is reduced even with several levels to just 1 collecting line for the main drainage and 1 collecting line for the emergency drainage, which "collect" the water from each level.
Application examples
LORO-X multi-storey drains
for the main and emergency drainage
With the new LORO-X multi-storey drains - using the pipe-in-pipe principle patented for LORO - the water from each storey flows by gravity flow into the outer downpipe of the respective level. The water from the pipeline coming from above is routed over the level in the inner pipe of the pipe-in-pipe downpipe in a backflow-proof manner.
What is pressurised gravity flow?
The third type of flow in roof drainage
The horizontal pipe can be laid without a fall, as the water is pushed over each level through the offset by means of pressurised gravity flow with overpressure.
A roof drainage system with pressurised gravity flow is defined according to the LORO-X works standard as a roof drainage system that has a gravity outlet for gravity flow as the drain, but a pressure flow with overpressure in the pipe system (instead of negative pressure).
In the fully ventilated downpipe, a static water pressure builds up which pushes the water through the closed horizontal offset.
This produces a silent gravity flow, which is particularly important for roof drainage systems in residential construction or other buildings with increased sound insulation requirements.
The pressurised gravity flow is reliably achieved by LORO-X gravity outlets and a pressure-resistant pipe system made of LORO-X steel drainage pipes with push-fit socket connection.
On the levels, the pipeline is reduced from DN 100 to DN 50, so that low heights between the roof waterproofing membrane and the terrace covering are possible.
Pressurised gravity flow also prevails in the rainwater standpipe with high-performance safety overflow (HSÜ).
Horizontal offset
Above the waterproofing membrane
LORO-X DUOSTREAM multi-storey drains are available as a model for the horizontal offset above the waterproofing membrane, in which the DN50 pipe is routed between the waterproofing membrane and the slab covering. Due to the small nominal size DN50, the height of the structure can be reduced.
In the thermal insulation
Alternatively, there is the model for the horizontal offset in the thermal insulation, in which the DN50 pipe is routed through the waterproofing membrane into the thermal insulation by means of a special deflection. The horizontally arriving pipe is then routed directly through the basin of the multi-storey drain.
