For the renovation of small and large roofs and balconies
An (energy-efficient) renovation of roofs and facades requires the review and renewal of the drainage concept. DIN 1986-100 requires in Chapter 5.8.4: "When renovating a roof, the inspection and retrofitting of the roof drainage system must also be provided for. In particular, the drainage capacity according to current rainfall intensities, the condition of the overall system, the waterproofing and any emergency drainage that may need to be added must be checked". When planning a future-proof drainage concept, the main and emergency drainage must therefore be recalculated to safely drain future heavy rainfall events from the roof. LORO is happy to support from planning to execution.
Innovations for emergency drainage
If the use of high-performance parapet emergency drainage systems is not possible, LORO now also offers so-called rectangular scuppers made of stainless steel, which drain through the parapet to the outside in the form of a rectangular opening as a scupper. The requirements for scuppers must be taken into account to ensure that the water jet falling from above does not affect people or objects below.
Innovations for large roof areas
If the roof is being energy-renovated, a new sloped insulation often offers the opportunity to optimize the slope plan so that fewer low points with fewer but more powerful drains can be created. If the position of the underground drain, safely floodable areas or other rainwater harvesting systems is specified, internal DRAINJET systems can transport the rainwater without slope specifically to the corresponding transfer points.
In many used buildings, low points previously located in the roof surface can also be moved to the edge of the parapet, so that a high-performance parapet drainage can in future do without pipes inside the building.
Safe roof drainage systems consisting of drains, pipes and fittings are in focus. If the roofer does not install the pipe system himself, close cooperation with the installer is necessary to ensure the required system form and system performance.
