Application Examples for Green Roof Drainage
with LORO-X retention drains for parapet and flat roof drainage
The drains shown from LORO can also be used without retention units.
The following application examples were developed in friendly cooperation with Optigrün - Green Roof Systems & Rainwater Management. The application examples contain green roof structures from Optigrün in combination with retention drains from LORO.
Parapet Drainage for Green Roofs
Warm roof with intensive and extensive vegetation
For the drainage of green roofs as warm roofs, the LORO-X RAINSTAR parapet drainage of Series 79 with lowered pipe and the practical parapet upstand as 90 or 45 degree clamping flange for bitumen or plastic membranes shown in the application example is suitable.
The matching VARIOFIT retention units for LORO-X RAINSTAR drains can be mounted directly or added to the body later.
The retention units fit on bodies of the following series:
• Series 79 RAINSTAR with lowered pipe
• Series 89 RAINSTAR with low installation depth
• Series 88 RAINSTAR Distant without upstand
Warm Roof
With two-part LORO-X DRAINLET flat roof drains
For the drainage of green roofs as warm roofs, the LORO-X DRAINLET flat roof drainage of Series 84 with clamping flange for bitumen or plastic membranes shown in the application example is suitable. For warm roofs, the two-part variant is used to integrate the waterproofing membrane and the vapor barrier.

Alternatively, VARIOFIT retention units for LORO-X DRAINLET drains can be added to the body later:
• DRAINLET retention units (DN 50, 70, 100 and 125)
• Series 84 DRAINLET with standard dome
Cold Roof
with one-part LORO-X DRAINLET flat roof drains
For the drainage of green roofs as cold roofs, the LORO-X DRAINLET flat roof drainage of Series 84 with clamping flange for bitumen or plastic membranes shown in the application example is suitable. For cold roofs, the one-part variant is used.
