LORO-X Series V: Versatile and Variable in Design

The variable balcony drainage system for every balcony structure

Safe balcony drainage ensures the longevity of the balcony structure and is an important part of planning and construction. It also prevents water from penetrating into the living area during heavy rainfall. The sealing of the balcony drain to the waterproofing of the balcony or terrace is of particular importance. Otherwise, water may penetrate into the balcony structure and cause permanent damage.

It is generally advisable to use a complete drainage system "from a single source". Because the individual system components such as base unit, extension element, floor units, strainer unit and downpipe are perfectly coordinated, planning and installation proceed smoothly and LORO provides expert advice.

One Base Unit

The drainage should adapt to the needs of the balcony structure, not the other way around. By installing the LORO-X Series V base unit in the concrete slab, the foundation for drainage can already be installed before the balcony structure is determined. Once the building owners have decided on a balcony structure, the extension element matching the balcony design is selected and installed later in the construction process.

Matching Extension Elements

The diverse combination possibilities cover almost all possible balcony structures and drainage options. The LORO-X Series V can be used as a single drain or direct drain, in single or two-part versions for uninsulated or insulated balconies, with one or two drainage levels, with adhesive flange for liquid plastics or with clamping flange for waterproofing membranes made of bitumen or plastic, as well as with factory or site-installed upstands for installation close to rising components and corner formations.

Space-Saving Installation

On small flat roofs, balconies, terraces, loggias or garages, space is often limited. Space-saving drainage is therefore often advantageous.

Small Balconies

For smaller balconies, a single balcony drain is usually sufficient, which ensures adequate drainage at the lowest point. LORO will be happy to help you carry out the necessary calculations so that the drainage is adequately dimensioned even for heavy rainfall events.

Drip profiles or simple scuppers are usually unsuitable because there are usually more balconies below the balcony. The outflowing water would then regularly rain onto the floors below, affecting the residents. According to DIN 1986-100, they are therefore generally unsuitable for multi-family buildings.
