Thermal insulation
LORO-X insulation blocks for parapet and flat-roof drains
For many drains, LORO offers special thermal insulation that is factory-adapted to the exact contour of the respective drain. This eliminates the time-consuming cutting of the thermal insulation on the construction site!

In the technical information you will find details on the thermal conductivity or the thermal conductivity group. Note: "If a building material has a thermal conductivity of λ=0.040 W/(mK), this corresponds to thermal conductivity group WLG 040. The classification is made in increments of five, i.e. WLG 030, WLG 035, WLG 040 and so on. As a rule of thumb: the lower the value of the thermal conductivity group (WLG), the better the insulation value. Conversely: the higher the WLG value, the thicker the insulation must be to achieve the same insulating effect as a building material with a lower WLG value."
Installation of LORO-X steel drainage pipes in thermal insulation
When installing LORO-X steel drainage pipes in thermal insulation, we have over the years carried out countless construction projects free of complaints and claims. These are very often based on our Series 88 RAINSTAR Distant, which is installed almost exclusively in thermal insulation. LORO-X steel drainage pipes according to DIN EN 1123 are approved for use inside and outside the building in accordance with DIN 1986 Part 4.
Where applicable, the following points must be observed:
1. A minimum cover over the pipe or pipe insulation in accordance with DIN 4108 or the German Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV).
2. In the case of pipes at risk of frost, trace heating should be used.
3. The socket connections should be axially secured against possible pulling apart. This can be achieved by using the LORO-X securing clamps.
The German Trade Association for Roof, Wall and Sealing Technology also sees no restrictions on installation in thermal insulation, provided there is appropriate thermal insulation protection and positional securing.
