LORO-X box gutter drainage

Smaller nominal size, higher performance

For metal, curtain-type and cornice-mounted box gutters with a width of 150mm or more, LORO-X DRAINJET-Mini drains are ideal as main drainage and emergency drainage with gravity flow or siphonic flow in DN50.

Even with curtain-type box gutters, the backflow-proof and pressure-resistant DN50 pipe system offers the often decisive flexibility in drainage. Depending on local conditions, the pipe system can be routed either vertically, with an offset, or down behind the facade.

The stainless steel drain with its practical clamping flange enables sealing in the box gutter without soldering or welding. LORO recommends installation in industrially manufactured or site-fabricated metal gutters with a width of 150 or 300 mm respectively.

LORO-X DRAINJET roof drainage systems with standard hood in nominal sizes DN50 to DN150 offer maximum performance for wider box gutters from 300mm width.

Main and emergency drainage

from internal and curtain gutters

The new LORO-X DRAINJET-Mini roof drainage system with siphonic flow in DN 50 offers new possibilities for main and emergency drainage of internal or "cornice-mounted" box gutters with a width of 150mm or more. Wider internal box gutters from 300mm width can be drained using LORO-X DRAINJET drains with standard hood.

During roof renovation, increasing rainfall often demands a new and more powerful main drainage system as well as a new and safe emergency drainage system.

Controlled emergency drainage of internal gutters is often challenging, as during heavy rain - unlike with curtain-type gutters - the water cannot overflow into the open, but must be safely channeled through the building to the outside. The LORO-X DRAINJET-Mini emergency drainage with integrated damming element creates controlled drainage of century rainfall through the pipe system, as an alternative to uncontrolled "overflow" over the gutter edge.

The same challenge increasingly exists with curtain-type gutters beneath which there is a balcony or a roof terrace. That emergency drainage over the gutter edge drains uncontrolled onto the utilized area below is not desired by standards or building owners.

Gravity and siphonic flow

with reliable performance verification

The high drainage capacity of up to 9 liters per second at DN50 and up to 36 l/s at DN100 is achieved through the high flow velocity of water in the pressure-resistant LORO-X steel drainage pipe with its space-saving nominal diameter.

Compared to conventionally dimensioned downpipes (4.5 l/s at DN 100), this corresponds to multiple times the capacity with a smaller pipe diameter.

The performance documentation in the form of the LX data sheet consists of a graphical representation of the test system and the measured performance in tabular form and as a performance diagram.

Behind the facade

with pressure-resistant and backflow-proof pipe system

Typically, a box gutter can receive water from two roof surfaces on both sides or from one roof surface on one side. The box gutter can be located above a living space or utility room, or project freely at the roof edge.

Depending on local conditions, the pipe system can be routed either vertically, with an offset, or down behind the facade. LORO-X DRAINJET-Mini complete systems in DN 50 are ideally suited for installation behind the facade or within the building due to their small nominal diameter, high self-cleaning capacity through increased flow velocity, and pressure-resistant, backflow-proof pipe system.
